S-Z

SABRETOOTH (Victor Creed)
Age of Apocalypse Version Starring in: Exiles #1-
Main Version Guest-Starring in: X-Force #7-
Previously in: Uncanny X-Men #1-6, The Crossroads, NXM #5-6

NOTES: Sabretooth lost an arm to his alternate-reality daughter, Blink, in Uncanny X-Men #1. Since then, he's developed a grudging affection for the girl, and joined with the X-Men to save her in The Crossroads. He recently accepted a contract from Spiral, however, and appears on the path to being a villain once again.

The Age of Apocalypse Sabretooth remains a hero with the Exiles, although now without Blink.

In the future timeline of Reality 502, Sabretooth is General Creed, a borderline-psychotic but highly effective military leader. He is greatly impressed by his reality's version of Jean Grey, and has a grudge against X-23, who attacked him.

SAGE (Tessa)
Starring in: Exiles #1-
Guest-Starred in: New X-Men #1-4 (alternate version)

NOTES: An older, evil version of Sage assassinated Matt Murdock and Katherine Pryde in Reality 502's future. She was eventually stopped by the Beast (her husband's alternate) and Monet, who threw her out a window. (Ouch.)

The 616 version of Sage was missing after the House of M, and is now assisting the Exiles & Weapon X from outside time.

SAVANT (Barnabas Cole- DECEASED)
Guest-Starred in: Uncanny X-Men #2-6, The Crossroads

NOTES: Barnabas was a quiet, rather slow mutant with enhanced strength and apparent precognitive abilities. Although a member of Mystique's Brotherhood, he was destined to be an X-Man, and appeared to have used his abilities to help save Bobby Drake.

Unfortunately, his precognition proved to be a gift from the Slayer. He turned on the team, killing his friend Metralla, and was himself killed by Warpath in self-defense.

SCALPHUNTER (John Greycrow- DECEASED?)
Guest-Starring in: Generation: Eternity #2

NOTES: Scalphunter showed up at the Massachusetts Academy, having been hired to kill Emma Frost. He fought with Jon Worthington, the new Archangel, and was himself killed by Deadpool. Greycrow's healing factor and clones (courtesy of Mr. Sinister) make it difficult to say for certain he is actually dead, though.

SCARLET WITCH (Wanda Maximoff)

Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #7-

Previously Guest-Starred in Excalibur #1-6, The Crossroads, Uncanny #1

NOTES: Much of the Eternity series revolves around Wanda Maximoff-- the changes she made during the House of M still have repercussions for the whole world, and it was she who accidentally created the Slayer. The woman herself ended up in Reality 225's Camelot, weak and dying. It was discovered that she was actually pouring much of her power into Morgan Le Fay, a warrior mutant created by her own psyche to battle the Slayer. With Morgan's defeat, the power returned to Wanda. Amnesiac and confused, she wandered the Crossroads beyond time and was briefly possessed by the Slayer before Jean Grey, her brother Pietro, and daughter Nocturne brought her back to herself.

Now the whole hero community wonders what to do with her. Although sought by her friends in the Avengers, Wanda does not wish to see them, and has sought sanctuary with the X-Men. Grateful for her help against the Slayer, they now consider her a member of their team and are doing everything they can for her. She has struck up a friendship with Nocturne and Kurt Wagner, her alternate-reality husband. This is an uncomfortable situation for Rachel Grey, who cares for Kurt herself.

SCULPTOR (Jean-Pierre Arcenaux- DECEASED)

Guest-Starred in: X-Factor #4

NOTES: The Sculptor was a member of the Assassin's Guild with a grudge against Gambit's friend Guillaume. He had the power to bring his statues to life. He was burned to death by the Slayer after a few last words to Angel in X-Factor #4.

SHADOWCAT (Kitty Pryde)

Starring in: X-Force #1-

Previously in: The Crossroads

Guest Appearances: New X-Men #2, 4

NOTES: Kitty has gone to a dark place lately-- possessed by the Slayer, she nearly killed both her lover, Piotr Rasputin, and her 'sibling rival,' Jubilee. Upon her rescue, Kitty was wounded by the alternate Cable in his kidnapping of Professor X, and her phasing has become unreliable. She has also found it difficult to cope with her hatred of the Nazis she encounters in the World War II past.

Her Reality 502 future counterpart was a dedicated but tired politician, wrongfully suspected of Matt Murdock's assassination and eventually murdered herself by Sage.

SHATTERSTAR
Starring in: Exiles #1-

NOTES: Shatterstar was missing after the House of M, and has reappeared as part of the new Weapon X team, trapped outside of time.

SHAW, SEBASTIAN (DECEASED)
Guest-Starred in: Uncanny X-Men #3-4

NOTES: A prominent member of the Hellfire Club who somehow had knowledge of the Slayer, Shaw combined with Sage, Magneto, and Selene years ago to form a plan against him; he was killed by the Slayer while attempting to warn Emma Frost.

His Reality 502 counterpart is Prime Minister of the mutant government.

SIRYN (Theresa Rourke Cassidy)
Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #4-
Previously in: The Crossroads

NOTES: After nearly dying at Mystique's hand, Siryn recovered to assist the X-Men at The Crossroads. She has now joined the X-Men alongside her old friend Warpath, and may also be seen visiting her father in Generation: Eternity. Siryn was injured again during the mission to Latveria, but indications are the wound wasn't serious.

SLAYER (Real Name Unknown- DECEASED)
Guest-Starred in: All series issues #1-6, The Crossroads

NOTES: An extra-dimensional villain created by the House of M, the Slayer began as a combination of the Adversary's essence with a time-traveling mutant called Merlin. For a thousand years afterward it fought the X-Men across time, gathering their powers for its own use. Particularly, it was made up of the powers of nine: Storm, Blink, Iceman, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Chamber, Rogue, and Jamie Madrox.

The Slayer was badly weakened in the Crossroads by Jean Grey, then returned to Reality 616 to make one last attempt at defeating the team. It was killed after an extended battle by Warren Worthington III, the Angel, who gave his life in the effort.

SPIDER-GIRL (May Parker)
Guest-Starring in: New X-Men issue #7-

NOTES: The familiar version of May Parker has not been seen, and her status is presumed unchanged.

In Reality 502's future, May Parker, the mutant daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, is a fugitive from the law in Los Angeles. She has joined Nightcrawler's New X-Men, and apparently has a prior relationship with Morph.

SPIDER-MAN (Peter Parker)
Starring in: Spider-Man Eternity one-shot

NOTES: Peter Parker returned from the House of M devastated by the memory of his son with Gwen Stacy, who no longer existed. Peter was approached by a mysterious Lady, who offered him the chance to correct his life in exchange for saving 12 lives who were apparently vital to the proper flow of history. Unable to live with himself if he didn't try, Peter left his old life behind and went into the past to try to make things right. He is assisted in this effort by Luke Cage.

STEPFORD CUCKOOS (a.k.a. Five-in-One, Four-in-One)

NOTES: The Stepford Cuckoos hold a very important place in X-Men: Eternity. Their powers expanded in the House of M, and their Group Mind was spread through the realities, allowing the X-Men of each team to contact one another. They were apparently working with Professor Xavier, and only they know where the Professor was during his absence.

Due to the nature of their group mind, the various Cuckoos have guest-starred in episodes of all the series. However, they mainly supported the main cast of the series they were assigned to:

PHOEBE appears in Uncanny X-Men (#1-6) and Generation: Eternity (#1-). She has proved to be significantly stronger than her sisters realized, and may supplant Sophie as leader of the group mind. She has a strong dislike of the chaotic Layla Miller.

CELESTE appears in X-Force (#1-) and was badly wounded by the Slayer in X-Force #5.

SOPHIE appears in X-Factor (#1-). She was resurrected by the House of M, and led the group mind until her sister Esme ambushed her and took over her body in X-Factor #5. She was restored to her body in the Crossroads and remains with the team.

MINDEE appeared in eXcalibur (#1-6) and will be in New X-Men starting with #7. She was apparently killed by a renegade Madrox duplicate in eXcalibur #5, but actually transferred her consciousness to her sister Esme's body with the help of Jean Grey. She has since been reborn in Esme's body, and has become a sort of protégé to Jean.

ESME (DECEASED) appeared in New X-Men #1-6 and X-Factor #5-6. Although resurrected by the House of M, she betrayed her sisters again to join with the Slayer. Despite taking over Sophie's body for a time and nearly defeating a team of X-Men, Esme was killed when Mindee's consciousness assumed control of her body in her absence, leaving Esme no place to go. Her sisters then became the Four-in-One.

STORM (Ororo Munroe)
Starring in: X-Force #7-
Previously in: New X-Men #1-6, The Crossroads

NOTES: Storm found herself leading the X-Men stranded in the future after the House of M. She also found that she was a tyrant in this future, a murderer and traitor who passed herself off as a literal goddess. Storm defeated... herself... but was promptly absorbed by the Slayer, who further used her powers for evil.

Although profoundly shaken by all this, she has accepted an offer from her comrade Logan to help him lead his team back to the World War II era to rescue Psylocke.

STRONG GUY (Guido Carosella)

Starring in: X-Factor #6-

NOTES: Guido was presumed to be among the mutants who never returned after the House of M, but he was sighted by X-Factor in issue #6, when Esme used an illusion to make him fight the team. Wolfsbane and Jamie Madrox have joined X-Factor to search for him; he was presumed missing in the past until found by Madrox in X-Factor #7.

STRICKLAND, MARIA
Guest-Starring in: Spider-Man Eternity, Uncanny #8

NOTES: Maria Strickland was married to a small-time hood who forced her to accompany him on a robbery and would have killed her, if not for Spider-Man. At Spidey's suggestion, she went to Tony Stark for assistance. Stark saw some potential in her, paying for her defense and giving her a job as his secretary.

SUNFIRE

Guest-Starring in: X-Force #7-

NOTES: The Reality 616 version of Sunspot has not been featured yet, and is presumably still crippled. His Reality 758 alternate is Michiko Yashida, an World War II era agent of the Japanese empire.

SUNSPOT (Roberto Da Costa)

Guest Starred in: New X-Men #3, 6

NOTES: The 616 version of Sunspot has not been seen since the House of M. His whereabouts are unknown.

His Reality 502 counterpart is one of Cable's soldiers. He commanded a unit against the X-Men and fought to a draw with Monet.

SZABO, MARIKA
Guest-Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #7-8

NOTES: Marika Szabo was a Latverian mutant with the ability to store solar energy and even turn to a transparent energy form. She was in love with Laszlo Vadasz, and when he returned and started killing mutants, she went to the X-Men for help. She's now assisting the team in Latveria.

SZABO, PETER
Guest-Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #7-8

NOTES: Peter Szabo was a Latverian mutant with enhanced durability and a healing factor. He was a lieutenant of Laszlo Vadasz, and when he began killing mutants, Peter and his sister Marika went to the X-Men for help. He is also assisting the Uncanny team.

TALBOT

Guest-Starred in: X-Force #1, 3, 7-

NOTES: A mysterious agent of Reality 758's American government, Talbot recruited Logan and his friends to work for him as X-Force. There is some suggestion of a past connection to Jean Grey's family, but Talbot seems to have no immediate goals besides defeating the Axis.

THUNDERBIRD (Neil Shaara)

NOTES: Thunderbird has not been seen since the House of M, and his status is unknown.

TOAD (Mortimer Toynbee)

NOTES: Toad has not been featured since the House of M, and is presumably at large.

WARPATH (James Proudstar)
Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #1-
Previously in: The Crossroads

NOTES: James Proudstar was among those called as emergency X-Men when most of the team went missing. Narrowly surviving assassination by Mystique, he has somewhat reluctantly remained with the team; both Nocturne and Siryn seem interested in him. He has feelings for the latter, which he has concealed.

WHITE QUEEN (Emma Frost)
Starring in: Generation: Eternity #1-
Previously in: Uncanny X-Men #1-7, The Crossroads
Guest Appearances: eXcalibur #1, Issue #6 of all series.

NOTES: Emma has elected to reopen her Massachusetts Academy after discovering a gateway to other worlds left there by the Hellfire Club. She intends to make a new start and change for the better. Her fellow heroes regard this with some suspicion. Recently, unknown persons put a price on Emma's head, although she does not yet know why.

In the future timeline of Reality 502, Emma is Chancellor of the Exchequer, second in command of the mutant government. She also raised that Universe's Cable after his parents were killed.

WILDCHILD (Kyle Gibney)

Guest-Starred in: New X-Men #5

NOTES: The 616 version of Wildchild has not been seen since the House of M. His whereabouts are unknown.

His Reality 502 counterpart was one of General Creed's soldiers, killed for disobeying orders.

WISDOM, PETE

Guest-Starring in: X-Force #7-

NOTES: Pete Wisdom hasn't been seen since the House of M; in fact, he was misplaced to Reality 758's World War II, where he has been functioning as a British agent.

WOLFSBANE (Rahne Sinclair)

Starring in: X-Factor #7-

Previously in: Excalibur #1-6, The Crossroads

NOTES: Rahne's time in Camelot started with a bang, as she was nearly burned at the stake. She then settled in as a member of the team, although she clashed with Jean on occasion and had a hard time dealing with the Moira duplicate they met. She still bears a grudge against Mystique and is unhappy about the team making a deal with her.

She may be developing an attraction to her longtime friend Madrox-- at least, when one of his dupes fell in love with her, Rahne confessed she didn't mind. She joined X-Factor to look for her old friend Guido Carosella, who is trapped in their past. When Madrox left to handle that part solo, Rahne remained with the rest of the team and recently rescued the mutant Lenora from mysterious enemies.

WOLVERINE (James Howlett a.ka. Logan)
Starring in: X-Force #1-
Previously in: The Crossroads
Guest Appearances: Uncanny X-Men #6-7, New X-Men #6

NOTES: Wolverine has his memories back, as in canon after House of M. He has been reluctantly leading an Allied strike force in the alternate World War II of Reality 758. This responsibility has taken a great toll on him-- his healing factor was taxed to its limit and he has resorted to telepathic reinforcement from Emma Frost to keep himself going. He has also, quite unexpectedly, begun falling in love with Psylocke on this adventure, and has sworn to rescue her from the past reality, where she remains trapped.

His Reality 502 future counterpart was blasted by Cyclops while trying to run away with Jean Grey, then left for the Sentinels to retrieve. He is presumed dead.

X-23 (Laura Kinney)
Starring in: New X-Men #1-
Previously in: The Crossroads

NOTES: Although only a student, X-23 was stranded with the mutants in the future. She has mostly worked with Bishop, and he asked for her presence on the new team. The two of them clashed when X-23 attacked the alternate Sabretooth for no apparent reason.

YELLOWJACKET (Dr. Henry Pym)
Guest-Starring in: Uncanny X-Men #8-

NOTES: Henry Pym was contacted by former teammate Tony Stark when Stark needed some information about the X-Men's activities. He bumped into Nightcrawler while breaking into the Xavier mansion, a meeting he termed “awkward.”
